Marking two new developments across the US, Station Casinos launched North Fork Mono Casino in Madera, California on October 27, while Maryland approved plans to bring a mini version of the Sphere entertainment venue to Prince George’s County by 2030.
Station Casinos partnered with the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians to launch the new $750m gaming establishment, which offers visitors more than 2,400 slots, 40 table games and a high-limit room.
The high-limit space features 138 slots and 10 table games, as well as its own dedicated bar and cashier integrations.
Station Casinos’ latest property launch follows troubling news in Las Vegas, as its parent company Red Rock Resorts saw an emergency stay request denied by the US Supreme Court.
Red Rock Resorts sought intervention from the Supreme Court in hopes of delaying compliance with an order from the National Labor Relations Board to negotiate with a union at Red Rock Casino, Resort and Spa, Boulder Station and Palace Station.

Regarding the proposal in Maryland, the mini Sphere entertainment venue will host 6,000 seats and feature a construction cost of $1.4bn, representing the second-ever Sphere venue in the US.
Set to neighbor the MGM National Harbor property in Prince George’s County, the Sphere is expected to generate $63m in annual tax revenue and recently garnered support from Maryland Governor Wes Moore.
Council members also approved issuing $215m in bonds to help fund the project and pay down MGM National Harbor’s debt. The bonds are expected to be paid off with future tax revenues produced by the entertainment venue.
The proposal for a mini version of Las Vegas’ Sphere venue was brought forth in Maryland during July, although a complete replica of the standing attraction is also being constructed in Abu Dhabi.
Station Casinos entered into a $500m term B loan on October 21, used to ‘repay borrowings outstanding under its revolving credit facility, related expenses and for general corporate purposes’
