Matter reported to law enforcement and subject to internal investigation

The Rank Group has confirmed that its Spanish operations have been affected by a payment fraud incident, resulting in an aggregate loss of approximately €7.1m ($8.3m).

In a statement to the market, the operator said its Spanish brands Enracha and Yo were the victims of the fraud. The group has reported the matter to the relevant law enforcement authorities and said it is cooperating fully with their investigations.

Rank also confirmed that it has launched its own internal review into the incident, supported by an external law firm.

The company did not disclose further details regarding the nature of the fraud, the period over which it occurred, or whether customer data was impacted.

Given what it described as the exceptional nature of the incident, Rank said it expects to treat the financial impact as a Separately Disclosed Item in relation to its 2025/26 financial performance.

Separately disclosed items are typically used to highlight material events that are not considered part of underlying trading performance.

The disclosure comes at a time when operators across regulated European markets continue to face increasing exposure to payment related crime and cyber enabled fraud, particularly as digital channels scale and transaction volumes grow.

Spain is a regulated gambling market where operators are subject to both gambling and financial crime compliance obligations.

Rank operates Enracha as a land-based casino and bingo brand in Spain, while Yo is its digital gambling platform in the market.

Spain remains an important jurisdiction for the group's international operations alongside its UK estate and digital businesses.

The group has not indicated whether the incident is expected to have any wider operational or regulatory implications beyond the financial impact already disclosed.

In November, the group confirmed the appointment of John H Ott as its new Chair, succeeding Alex Thursby, who stepped down after nearly six years in the role.

Ott took up the position on 17 November, with the appointment coming after Rank reported positive digital momentum earlier in the year, including strong growth in Grosvenor's online operations.
