Paraguay’s gambling sector generated PYG18,7bn in January, according to official data released by the National Commission of Games of Chance (CONAJZAR).
The data was published through the updated portal of the National Directorate of Tax Revenues (DNIT) and is part of a comparative table of fiscal fees collected by CONAJZAR.
The figure represents a 23.4% increase compared with the amount collected in January 2025, which was the country’s previous record for the first month of the year.
It also suggests that the national sector has entered 2026 with continued growth following a record year for collections.
In 2025, Paraguay’s gaming regulator reported its strongest annual revenue performance in a decade. According to the same official data, total fees collected by Conajzar between January and December 2025 reached PYG215,940,913,734.
This represented a 22.9% year-on-year increase compared with receipts in 2024.
The regulator highlighted that monthly totals remained above PYG15bn throughout the year, and that sustained, consistent growth across the calendar, rather than isolated peaks, was a key factor in driving the decade-high outcome.
This represented an 8.5% increase compared with total collections recorded in 2024, making 2025 the strongest year on record for gambling-related revenue in the country.
CONAJZAR also notes that 2025 marks the first full year operating under Paraguay's updated gaming legislation, which formally integrated CONAJZAR into the DNIT.
The January performance therefore reinforces expectations that 2026 could maintain an upward trajectory and lead to a new record in the country.
