Teams are reviewing compliance with identification rules, responsible advertising and minor protection requirements

The state lottery of Paraná (Lottopar) is carrying out a new round of on-site inspections this week across several municipalities in the state, reinforcing its compliance and consumer protection strategy within the regulated betting market.

Three officials from the state lottery authority are visiting both dedicated and non-dedicated retail locations that commercialize lottery products and regulated fixed-odds betting.

The initiative forms part of Lottopar’s permanent monitoring calendar and is framed as a measure to uphold legality, responsible gambling principles and consumer safeguards.

During the technical visits, inspectors are assessing adherence to rules established under current ordinances.

Checks include verification of bettor identification procedures, mandatory visual communication requirements, restrictions on access for minors and the proper functioning of authorized systems.

At establishments focused specifically on lottery and betting operations, the review covers physical infrastructure, display of informational materials and compliance with operational standards.

At non-dedicated points of sale, such as general commercial establishments offering regulated betting as an ancillary activity, inspectors evaluate whether operations remain within authorized parameters and whether responsible advertising guidelines are being respected.

Lottopar’s supervisory authority is grounded in the broader legal framework governing fixed-odds betting, instant lottery products and anti-money laundering mechanisms in the state.

The regulator has positioned on-site inspections as a complement to its existing technological oversight model.

That model includes technical certifications, laboratory accreditation processes and international compliance requirements imposed on authorized operators.

Paraná has been developing its regulatory ecosystem, including supplier partnerships and operational frameworks.
