ALEA and Upateco, an Argentinian University, held a graduation ceremony for 56 professionals who completed the University Technical Program in Gaming Management and Administration at the Palermo Racetrack. The graduates represent the 2022 cohort of the first university degree in Latin America, oriented specifically to the gaming sector.
Since its launch in 2017, it has trained nearly 250 professionals, contributing to the professionalization of Argentina’s regulated gaming ecosystem.
The ceremony brought together ALEA authorities, regulators from across the country, member entities, instructors and families, highlighting the collaborative nature of the initiative between academia and the public gaming sector.
Speakers emphasized the growing importance of specialized training in a context defined by digitalization, technological innovation and evolving regulatory demands. The program is designed to equip professionals with the tools needed to manage gaming operations with a focus on responsibility, transparency and long-term sustainability.
The initiative also reflects broader efforts within Argentina’s regulated gaming system to strengthen institutional capacity and improve operational standards across provincial lotteries, casinos and regulatory bodies.
Graduates from the program typically take on roles within public and regulated gaming organizations, supporting oversight, compliance and operational functions. The curriculum addresses sector-specific topics that are not commonly included in traditional business or public administration degrees.
ALEA and the University confirmed that the program will continue, with pre-registration already open for the 2026 cohort, as demand for trained professionals grows alongside industry expansion and regulatory complexity.
ALEA brings together Argentina’s provincial gaming regulators and state operators, making it a key coordinating body for policy alignment, responsible gaming initiatives and sector-wide training programs
