The campaign has attracted significant support from high-ranking MPs

The Betting and Gaming Council (BGC) has announced that Safer Gambling Week 2026 will take place from 16-22 November.

The week will unite the regulated betting and gaming sector to promote safer play and raise awareness of the tools and support available to customers in the UK and Ireland.

A record-breaking Safer Gambling Week 2025 generated more than 80 million impressions across X, Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.

The initiative, which saw a 40% increase from last year has attracted immense political support and the increasingly passionate response from the parliamentarians will be expected to continue as it approaches its tenth year.

A consistent level of engagement for the campaign is evident, and a record number of senior cross-party MPs have lent their support, including Gambling Minister Baroness Twycross and Shadow Gambling Minister Louie French MP.

Grainne Hurst, Chief Executive of the Betting and Gaming Council, said: “Safer Gambling Week has gone from strength to strength, with last year’s record-breaking campaign showing just how powerful a united, cross-sector effort can be.

“By working alongside Bacta and the Bingo Association, we will continue to raise awareness of the tools that help customers stay in control and promote safer play right across the sector.”

Hurst also gave a speech at the BGC AGM this year which saw the CEO give a speech, highlighting the efforts made by the BGC.

In addition to the awareness raised by the campaign, the BGC has lent its expertise to the Government in introducing new measures to block unlicensed operators from sponsoring sports teams.

The initiative covers UK and Ireland and runs in parallel to the separate but related European Safer Gambling Week
