The first casino with live table games will officially open at Resorts World in Queens, NY. It will offer nearly 200 casino table games and rapper Nas will be present at the ribbon-cutting and ceremonial throw of the first dice at the opening.
On its newly renovated third floor, Resorts World will add 1,250 new jobs and 950 table-game dealers. With numbers set to grow to more than 2,700 workers by the summer.
“New York City has never seen anything like what we’re planning for April 28,” said Robert De Salvio, President of Genting Americas East.
“Once final testing is complete, live table games will be open and operating right here in Queens for the first time in the history of New York City. We are ready to welcome New Yorkers to this exciting new experience.”
Operating as a slots parlor since 2011, Resorts World along with three other companies were approved for casino licenses back in December 2025.
In relation to this, The New York State Gaming Commission reported its gaming and online sports betting activity for March 2026 – the GGR for NYC climbed by 1.8% to $62m.

Operating under the Malaysian company Genting Group, Resorts World’s opening of its first casino in New York City is an example of how casino and gaming business can benefit everyone.
Genting Chairman KT Lim will be present at the grand opening along with numerous other elected officials and community leaders.
Resorts World has operated since 2011 and has delivered $5 billion in tax revenues to the state education system
