Bolsa de Aposta has carried out a fan engagement activation in partnership with Clube de Regatas Brasil (CRB), enabling a visually impaired supporter to attend his first match at the stadium.
The operator is the club’s current main sponsor until February 2027, marking the largest private sponsorship in club history.
The initiative focused on Edvaldo Terto, a 65-year-old lifelong CRB fan who has been blind since his twenties and had never experienced a match in person.
Recently, Terto had to be hospitalized near the stadium and was “delighted to be just a few meters away from the club,” according to his son.
The operator covered travel, accommodation and tickets for Edvaldo and his son, allowing them to attend a fixture at Rei Pelé Stadium.
Beyond attending the match, the experience included pitchside access and a meeting with players ahead of kick-off. Edvaldo also received a club shirt and an exclusive radio device to follow live commentary during future matches.
“Taking Mr Edvaldo to Rei Pelé was more than fulfilling an individual dream, it reaffirmed our commitment to fans and to the stories that give football its meaning,” said Raquel Saliba, Marketing Director at Bolsa de Aposta.
The initiative reflects how operators in Brazil continue to invest in fan-led activations as part of sponsorship agreements with clubs.
At the same time, the model faces potential regulatory pressure, with a bill advancing through Congress proposing restrictions on betting advertising. Estimates indicate that top-flight clubs could face losses of up to BR842m ($163m) if such measures are implemented.
“At Bolsa de Aposta, we believe that the passion for sports needs to be accessible to everyone, without exception. This experience alongside CRB shows that when we come together, we can transform emotion into an unforgettable memory,” concluded Saliba.
