Brightstar Lottery has signed a two-year contract extension with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation to continue providing lottery technology and services in Texas. The agreement, effective immediately, extends through August 31, 2028.
The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation administers the functions and activities of the Texas Lottery. Brightstar will maintain its role as technology provider for the jurisdiction under the extended contract terms.
Scott Gunn, Brightstar COO North America Lottery, said: "Brightstar has a successful history of supporting the Texas Lottery, and we are pleased that our contract was extended. We look forward to continuing to work productively with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation."
Brightstar serves approximately 90 lottery customers across six continents. The company operates as the primary technology provider to 26 of the 46 lottery jurisdictions in the US and eight of the world's 10 largest lotteries, including Texas.
The extension maintains Brightstar's position in one of the largest US lottery markets. Texas represents a significant jurisdiction within Brightstar's North American portfolio, which forms a substantial portion of the company's global operations.
Brightstar Lottery, listed on the New York Stock Exchange under ticker BRSL, provides lottery technology, retail and digital solutions, and game development services. The company employs approximately 6,000 staff members across its operations.
Contract extensions in established lottery markets typically reflect operator satisfaction with technology performance and service delivery. The two-year term provides continuity for Texas Lottery operations while allowing the jurisdiction to evaluate technology options within a defined timeframe.
Brightstar continues managing contracts across multiple US jurisdictions as lottery operators balance technology modernization requirements with operational stability. The company's portfolio includes jurisdictions at various stages of technology deployment and system lifecycle management.
The Texas extension follows Brightstar's pattern of maintaining long-term relationships with lottery customers through successive contract renewals. The company positions itself as a provider of comprehensive lottery solutions spanning retail systems, digital platforms and central gaming systems across its customer base.
The company has recently signed an eight-year deal with the Missouri Lottery to deploy its OMNIA platform across retail and digital channels
