FDJ United has launched a commission-advance scheme to support the growth of its French retail network of tobacconists and newsagents.
The operator's retail sector spans over 29,000 points of sale nationwide. Last year, FDJ paid more than €1bn in commission to its partner merchants.
A new initiative aims to offer cash advances to merchants wishing to modernise and transform their points of sale. This scheme is part of FDJ United's 2030 strategy.
The cash advance can reach up to €30,000 and is calculated based on the commission the individual point of sale earned in a prior year.
FDJ says benefits for retail partners using the scheme include increased turnover and diversification of services. According to the operator, additional benefits include greater opportunities to attract new customers and improved quality of life for local merchants.
Recently, FDJ also modernised its operations across other markets in the wake of the 2026 World Cup. This includes a wide-ranging mobilisation across its European markets, combining expanded betting offers, retail activations and enhanced responsible gaming initiatives.
Locally, FDJ’s ParionSports brand will extend its retail operating hours. The brand will also expand its offering to up to 420 bets per match, including 38 new betting markets focused on goalscorers.
The operator also recently reported a 1% year-on-year increase in its GGR for Q1 2026, to €2.2bn. However, its revenue decreased by 3% to €895m.
French lottery and retail sports betting unit GGR remained stable at just over €1.7bn, even while the vertical’s revenue fell 2% to €627m.
Since its launch in April 2025, the commission advance program has grown in popularity within the FDJ network, providing more than €5m in support to retail partners
