Svenska Spel has published its Interim Report for January to June 2026. The operator recorded its best second quarter since the Swedish gambling market was re-regulated in 2019, with higher net gaming revenue, improved operating profit and a stronger operating margin.
Net gaming revenue for the group reached SEK 1.96bn, an increase of SEK 124m or 7% year-on-year. The operator’s online business grew by 14%, accounting for 67% of total revenue during the period.
The growth was driven by increased customer activity and a rising number of customers across lotteries, sports betting and casino games.
Svenska Spel Q2 2026 performance
For the sport & casino business area, net gaming revenue rose by 11%. The final month of the quarter was influenced by the World Cup, with an expanded offering, customer activities and new promotions contributing positively to revenue, customer engagement and new customer growth.
Compared with June last year, sports betting revenue grew by 135%. The number of active customers grew by 36%, while newly registered customers rose by more than 340%. Sales targets for the World Cup up to and including July 6 were exceeded, with the outlook for the remainder of the tournament remaining positive due to continued strong customer engagement.
Operating profit for the group amounted to SEK 617m, an increase of 13%, supported by higher net gaming revenue. The operating margin improved to 31%.
During the first half of 2026, net gaming revenue totalled SEK 3.84bn up 4%. Online sales grew 11%. Operating profit for the operator reached SEK 1.28bn, rising by 8%.
