SJM Holdings has announced plans to acquire L'Arc Hotel, and will not be proceeding with plans to acquire Ponte 16.

The acquisition of L'Arc Hotel owners Arc of Triumph Development is priced at HK$1.75 bn (US$0.22 bn), and is located in one of Macau's highest traffic entertainment and hospitality regions. Indeed, the property holds a gross floor area of roughly 86,438 sq metres, and offers food, retail and more. Its casino section is currently operated by SJM, and soon, the whole property will be.

The acquisition covers 100% of issued shares, which will be purchased from Goldarch Holdings and Solar King Investments, subject to SJM shareholders. Funds for the acquisition were acquired via bank loan.

The acquisition aims to bolster SJM's Macau portfolio, which currently also includes Casino Grand Lisboa, Casino Fortuna and others.

On the acquisition, SJM Holdings Chairman and Executive Director Daisy Ho said: "L'Arc Hotel is centrally located within the active cluster of gaming, hospitality and visitor traffic on the Macau Peninsula, where the combined pull of surrounding landmarks and attractions creates opportunities that few locations can match. With the casino currently operating below its full potential, we see considerable room for growth as part of a stronger, integrated network under SJM Resorts.

"This acquisition will allow us to enhance coordination across our peninsula properties in a unified structure that enhances operational efficiency and unlocks cross-promotional synergies. Our priority is to ensure a smooth transition for employees and to continue contributing to Macau's tourism economy."

The operator also announced that it would be stepping back from its acquisition of Ponte 16 casino. The decision came following a comprehensive business review, with SJM explaining that it wanted to remain focused on strengthening core operations.

As such, Ponte 16 will cease operations on Friday 28 November 2025, with all slot and table games to be redeployed to other SJM properties. Moreover, chips, deposits and cash can be used at other SJM Resorts locations following the closure.

Ponte 16 employees will all remain employed and will be reassigned across the business.
