Construction has begun on Janu Al Marjan Island, a luxury hotel and branded residences development in Ras Al Khaimah
The project represents the second joint venture between Marjan and Wynn Resorts
The development will be located next to Wynn Al Marjan Island, the UAE's first integrated gaming resort

Construction has officially started on Janu Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah. The project will expand the hospitality offering surrounding the UAE's emerging integrated gaming resort destination.

Marjan and Wynn Resorts marked the start of work with a groundbreaking ceremony attended by representatives from both companies, Aman Group and other project stakeholders.

Scheduled to open in 2029, the development will include a luxury hotel, branded residences and a range of wellness-focused facilities. International architecture firm SCDA Architects is responsible for its design.

The project is particularly notable for its location alongside Wynn Al Marjan Island, which is currently under construction and is set to become the UAE's first integrated gaming resort. The two neighbouring developments are expected to create crossover opportunities between their respective hotel guests and residents.

Wynn Al Marjan Island President Max Tappeiner described Janu as a natural complement to the integrated resort, noting that its hospitality offering would bring an additional dimension to the wider destination.

The development also marks the second joint venture between Wynn Resorts and Marjan, the master developer behind Al Marjan Island, as investment continues around the waterfront destination.

For Marjan, the project forms part of a wider strategy to attract international hospitality brands and investment to Ras Al Khaimah while expanding the emirate's tourism economy. Janu, a sibling brand of luxury hospitality group Aman, will make its Ras Al Khaimah debut through the development.

The groundbreaking comes as the surrounding area undergoes significant development ahead of Wynn Al Marjan Island's opening, with the integrated resort expected to play a major role in establishing Ras Al Khaimah as a new regional gaming and tourism market.

Good to know

Janu Al Marjan Island was first announced in November 2025 and will mark Aman Group sibling brand Janu's first destination in Ras Al Khaimah
