DigiPlus has appointed global CEO advisory firm Teneo as a strategic advisor for its international expansion.

The appointment comes as DigiPlus looks to build on its position in the domestic market while expanding overseas. According to the company, Teneo will provide strategic guidance on navigating complex business environments, evaluating emerging opportunities and risks, and supporting long-term decision-making as DigiPlus enters new markets.

The partnership also aligns with DigiPlus' broader transformation from a Philippines-focused gaming operator into a global digital entertainment business. The company said the engagement will complement its continued investments in product innovation, corporate governance, responsible growth, and organizational development, helping establish a stronger foundation for sustainable expansion both domestically and internationally.

The announcement follows DigiPlus' second-quarter financial results, which reflected mixed performance. Gross gaming revenue reached PHP15.61bn (US$260m), down 9% from the previous quarter, while adjusted EBITDA increased 7.4% to PHP2.84bn. Operating income also rose 8.3% quarter over quarter, and net gaming revenue after tax edged up 0.9% to PHP5.52bn.

Although first-half revenue and profit remained below last year's levels, the company reported encouraging user growth. Monthly active users increased 25.8% compared with the first quarter, a trend DigiPlus believes demonstrates the strength of its platform and Gaming-as-a-Service strategy despite a more challenging macroeconomic environment and higher customer acquisition spending.

Looking ahead, DigiPlus has reiterated its ambition to evolve beyond a traditional online gaming operator by expanding its proprietary content, personalization capabilities, and technology platform. The company also confirmed plans to formally apply for a gaming license in New Zealand, positioning itself to enter the country's newly regulated online gaming market when the licensing framework takes effect in 2027.
