H2 participation reached 494,000, up 16.0% YoY, while the number of events remained broadly unchanged
H2 MICE-driven non-gaming receipts rose 44.8% to MOP2.43bn ($301.4m), pointing to continued growth in MICE-related spending

According to the Macau Statistics and Census Service (DSEC), the number of participants and attendees at Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) events for Q2 2026 increased 37.6% year-on-year to 314,000.  This is despite the number of MICE events remaining broadly in line with last year’s figures.

Moreover, MICE-driven receipts in Macau's non-gaming industries surged by 54.8% year-on-year to MOP1.59 billion in the second quarter, driven by growth in the number of non-local participants & attendees and in MICE visitors' per-capita spending.

For H2 2026, a total of 918 MICE events were held in Macau, unchanged from H2 2025 levels. Meanwhile, the number of participants and attendees has reached 494,000, a 16.0% rise. Furthermore, non-gaming industry MICE-driven receipts surged 44.8% to MOP2.43 bn.

Meanwhile, Macau’s gaming sector recorded total gross gaming revenue (GGR) of MOP 126.9bn for the first half of the year, representing a 6.8% increase compared with the same period in 2025.

However, the market experienced a weaker second quarter in 2026, with total GGR reaching MOP 61.2bn. The figure represented a 7.4% decline from the MOP 66bn recorded for the first quarter.

In Q2 2026, Baccarat remained the largest contributor to casino revenue, generating MOP 35.2bn in GGR.

In July, the gaming industry recorded a second consecutive month of weaker performance. Gross gaming revenue (GGR) fell 8.4% year-on-year to MOP20.26bn.

The result follows June's 12.1% decline, after Macau posted positive year-on-year growth during the first five months of 2026.

Despite the recent slowdown, cumulative GGR for the first seven months of the year reached MOP147.16bn, representing a 4.4% increase over the MOP140.90bn reported during the corresponding period in 2025.
