Delaware North will be discontinuing operations of its Betly online sports betting platform in Tennessee as part of a strategic realignment and begin preparations to expand its business into new US markets.
"We're proud of the foundation we've built in Tennessee and grateful to our players for their loyalty and enthusiasm," Delaware North VP of Interactive Gaming Lee Terfloth said.
"As we evolve our business strategy, we're excited to concentrate our efforts on our existing markets, while also preparing for new state launches that will further strengthen our footprint. We encourage customers who are missing out on the experience to visit the sportsbook at Southland Casino Hotel or place wagers online while in the state of Arkansas."
Delaware North will now focus its strategic efforts on building upon its Southland Casino Hotel operations in Arkansas as well as Betly's presence within the market.
The decision was said to reflect the operator's commitment to "optimizing its resources" in online sports betting and iGaming for regions where it currently operates.
Despite choosing to discontinue operations in Tennessee, Terfloth also stated the operator could re-enter its online gaming market in the future.
The Betly platform will remain live in Tennessee through December 29 to allow customers time to withdraw funds and close accounts in a secure fashion.
The online sports betting platform is currently live in Arkansas, Ohio and West Virginia, where Delaware North also operates its Betly iCasino vertical.
According to Terfloth, the operator will continue investing in the Betly platform by leveraging its expertise in gaming and hospitality, as well as remain "dedicated" to responsible gaming and innovation as it looks toward future expansion.
Delaware North formed a new strategic partnership with Acquire.Bet on October 28 to help advance the operator's iGaming strategy and improve user acquisition and retention
