Paddy Power has announced that it will extend its sponsorship of the World Darts Championship until 2031.
The five-year expansion follows the sportsbook's initial sponsorship of the event in 2023. The event is held at Alexandra Palace in London.
As part of its sponsorship of the event in 2024 and 2025, Paddy Power donated over £2m ($2.7m) to Prostate Cancer UK. Indeed, the sportsbook donated £1,000 for every 180 scored during the events. It has also introduced a nine-dart bonus competition, which offers an equal split of £180,000 between one World Darts Championship attendee and the charity if a player is able to throw a perfect leg. This happened not once, but twice, at the 2024 event.
Money donated to Prostate Cancer UK has been put towards its Transform trial. The cancer screening trial utilises a range of new and improved screening techniques to better detect and prevent the disease.
Alongside financial donations, Paddy Power has also promoted the charity through its social media channels. During its 2024 and 2025 campaigns, over 300,000 people used Prostate Cancer UK's risk checker.
At this year's event, scheduled from 11 December - 3 January, Paddy Power will launch its Darts of Destiny fundraising challenge, which will offer one person the chance to win £180,000 if they themselves can score at least 180 points from nine darts on the Alexandra Palace stage.
On the sponsorship, Paddy Power said: "The Paddy Power World Darts Championship is the greatest party in sport and we're proud to extend our sponsorship for another five years. We promise we'll keep bringing more excitement, entertainment and unmistakable Paddy Power mischief to the event wherever it's held.
"But above all, we are very proud to be able to use our sponsorship to help the vital and life-changing work Prostate Cancer UK do."
Professional Darts Corporation Chief Executive Matt Porter added: "Paddy Power has had a hugely positive impact on the World Darts Championship over the past two years. Their creativity, investment and passion for the sport have elevated the tournament to new heights, delivering an unforgettable experience for fans in the arena and millions watching around the world.
"We are delighted to extend this partnership through to 2031 and look forward to working together to continue growing the event, supporting the players, and using the global platform of darts to raise vital funds and awareness for Prostate Cancer UK."
