Kangwon Land Corporation has overhauled its mid- to long-term management strategy, establishing new financial, ESG and regional development targets as part of a broader framework looking towards 2035.
The company's board approved the 2027–2031 management objectives at its 236th meeting on October 26, replacing its previous strategy centered on 2030.
Under the revised framework, Kangwon Land has set a target of KRW3trn in company-wide revenue. It is also seeking the highest rating for the Public-service Customer Satisfaction Index, an integrated S grade for ESG evaluation and an S grade for its contribution to the regional economy.
The strategy is intended to balance financial performance with Kangwon Land's responsibilities as a public-sector company, including customer satisfaction, sustainable management and support for communities affected by the transition away from the coal industry.
Four strategic priorities have been established. These include strengthening experiential tourism competitiveness, developing what the company describes as a healthy entertainment-focused casino, revitalizing former coal-mining regions and increasing corporate value to support sustainable growth.
Kangwon Land also revised its corporate vision to position itself as a "global public integrated resort" that provides entertainment to the public while contributing to regional vitality.
Its core values have also been changed from respect, safety, ethics, practicality and challenge to happiness, shared growth, innovation and responsibility.
The company said the revised strategy is designed to secure future growth engines under its new CEO while establishing a more execution-focused management structure capable of producing measurable results.
The board separately approved contributions to Kangwon Land's 2026 employee welfare fund and adjustments to plans for the expansion and relocation of the Grand Hotel employee cafeteria.
The strategy follows the appointment of Kangwon Land's new CEO
