MGM Resorts International has officially certified more than 2,000 employees as GameSense Advisors, consisting of frontline and executive MGM Resorts staff currently working in over 30 departments for the operator.
The total was surpassed following a recent training session held at MGM Grand Las Vegas, with additional sessions conducted at every MGM Resorts property located within the US and at establishments such as Shadow Creek Golf Course and T-Mobile Arena.
"Our investment in GameSense ensures an approach where responsibility is woven into the heart of the MGM Resorts brand," MGM Resorts SVP & Chief Compliance Officer Stephen Martino said.
"With GameSense at the center, we're empowering employees to play an important role in promoting responsible gaming awareness and enjoyable experiences for our guests."
GameSense serves as a responsible gaming (RG) program originally developed and licensed to MGM Resorts by the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (BCLC) in 2017. As part of each session, team members received RG training designed to promote responsible play and address problem gambling concerns.
"This accomplishment is made possible by leadership and team members who genuinely want to make a difference," MGM Resorts Executive Director of RG Garrett Farnes said.
"We're committed to a culture of responsibility that turns every interaction into an opportunity to build trust and provide a level of hospitality that truly matters."
MGM Resorts also continues to support the American Gaming Association (AGA)'s Play Smart from the Start initiative and Have A Game Plan public-service campaign.
AGA VP of Research David Forman commented on the utilization of GameSense, having said, "Through initiatives like GameSense, MGM Resorts continues to set a standard that makes responsible gaming an everyday expectation.
"As the industry continues to expand, it's well-trained employees who are positioned to drive these important messages forward."
GameSense Advisors reinforce player education for guests and employees as well as identify at-risk behaviors, escalate concerns and provide support and local resources for MGM Resorts consumers.
