The municipality of Necochea in Argentina has formally announced the public auction of its landmark casino complex.
The auction sets a base price of ARS4.88bn and confirms the sale will take place on 11 February 2026.
The decision was confirmed through Municipal Decree No. 18/2026. The auction will be held in a public hearing at the city’s municipal palace, with proceedings scheduled to begin at 3pm local time.
Under the terms of the decree, the casino complex will be auctioned as a single unit rather than divided into individual parcels.
While part of the property may be transferred immediately, other sections will only be released once specific urban planning and zoning requirements have been met.
Interested bidders must complete prior registration and lodge a bid guarantee equivalent to 20% of the base price.
The auction will be overseen by licensed auctioneers Sandra Mariana Ortega as lead auctioneer and Oscar Luis Pérez as alternate.
The winning bidder will be responsible for surveying, subdivision and title transfer costs, as well as adapting the site to permitted land uses.
The sale follows growing interest in the asset, with more than 20 potential bidders previously signalling interest in the project, according to industry reporting.
Municipal officials say the move is intended to reactivate a strategically located section of the city’s seafront, where the casino complex has fallen into visible disrepair and to attract private investment through a transparent public process.
