The Swedish Gambling Authority, Spelinspektionen, has issued a formal warning and a sanction fee of SEK 1.2m to licence holder Oddit Limited after multiple failures to comply with mandatory reporting requirements relating to changes in its leadership structure.
Oddit Limited holds a licence for online casino and sports betting valid until 2028 and argued that internal staffing changes in compliance roles caused the delays.
Under the Gambling Act, licensees must report any changes in ownership or management structure to the Spelinspektionen within 14 days at the latest. The regulator initiated supervision of Oddit Limited to assess compliance with this requirement.
As part of the investigation, Oddit Limited submitted several documents. These included an overview and organisational chart of its ownership and corporate structure, as well as information on its management and board members.
The regulator found that the company breached reporting rules on three occasions in 2024, involving multiple late or missing notifications. Some reports were delayed by more than a year and only submitted after the Spelinspektionen began its investigation. The company said it has since improved its procedures and now reports changes on time.
It also emphasised that the individuals involved were reviewed and, as confirmed by the Spelinspektionen, meet the suitability requirements under the Gambling Act.
A warning was issued instead of licence revocation because the company took corrective action and is not expected to repeat the violation. Nevertheless, the breaches were deemed significant enough to warrant a financial penalty.
Recently LeoVegas announced the launch of its Expekt brand in Sweden ahead of the World Cup, with the operator’s proprietary Tiger sportsbook platform powering the offering.
The Spelinspektionen recently reported Q1 2026 GGR of SEK 6.7bn, up 0.8% year-on-year but down 14.4% from Q4 2025
