Sweden's licensed gambling operators generated SEK 6.7bn ($709m) in turnover during Q3 2025, according to preliminary figures released by the Swedish Gambling Authority (Spelinspektionen).
The total - defined as players' stakes minus paid-out winnings - represents a slight year-on-year increase of 0.5% compared with the same quarter in 2024.
Commercial online gaming and betting continued to make up the largest share of the market, reporting SEK 4.5bn for the quarter.
State lottery and slot machine games followed at SEK 1.26bn, while games for public benefit - including lotteries and hall bingo - collectively contributed just under SEK 900m.
Land-based commercial gaming remained comparatively small at SEK 67m.
Casino Cosmopol, the state-owned land-based casino operator, recorded no turnover during the period, following the wind-down of its operations.
Spelinspektionen also reported that self-exclusions via the national scheme Spelpaus.se exceeded 130,000 individuals by the end of Q3, reflecting a 2.1% increase from Q2.
The newly published statistics form part of the authority's ongoing monitoring of the Swedish gambling market. Spelinspektionen compiles turnover data directly for public-benefit games, while figures for taxable entities are drawn from declared tax information provided by the Swedish Tax Agency.
The regulator notes that all Q3 figures remain preliminary and may be adjusted once final tax and reporting data are processed.
The update comes amid continued regulatory activity in the Swedish market. In early November, Spelinspektionen confirmed new regulations under SIFS 2025:1, replacing earlier rules on casino and slot machine licensing.
The regulator has also initiated supervisory measures targeting Svenska Spel's land-based operations and continues to track long-term market trends such as channelisation rates and consumer behaviour.
The quarterly performance reflects market stability as Sweden works toward its 90% channelisation target, with the regulated market currently capturing an estimated 85% of total gambling activity
