Sands China says it remains committed to supporting Macau's development as a world centre of tourism and leisure, with its convention and exhibition business continuing to play a significant role in attracting international visitors and expanding the city's non-gaming tourism offerings.
As reported by local media, the company has hosted nearly 12,800 meetings, incentives, conventions and exhibitions (MICE) events in Macau over the years, drawing more than 15.7 million attendees from around the world. The events have covered a wide range of industries and helped strengthen Macau's position as a leading business tourism destination in Greater China and across Asia.
The company noted that its MICE facilities have expanded to more than 1.6 million square feet, increasing Macau's capacity to host large-scale international events. Through its integrated resort model, Sands China has sought to combine convention activities with accommodation, entertainment, dining and retail experiences, creating broader economic benefits for the city.
The group believes the MICE sector serves as a catalyst for other industries by attracting international professionals, corporate travellers and high-value visitors. In addition to supporting tourism growth, these events help broaden Macau's visitor base and create opportunities for local businesses.
In 2025 alone, Sands China recorded approximately 380,000 international guest room nights across its properties, reflecting continued demand from overseas business and leisure travellers.
Grant Chum, Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Sands China, said the company has successfully integrated the MICE industry into the operation of its integrated resorts and remains committed to supporting the Macau SAR Government's "Tourism+" strategy.
Looking ahead, the company plans to continue investing in high-quality tourism and non-gaming projects, with a focus on strengthening Macau's appeal as an events destination and contributing to the city's long-term economic diversification goals.
Sands China said it remains confident in Macau's future and will continue aligning its development plans with the government's broader vision for sustainable economic growth and enhanced global competitiveness.
