Superbet has announced it will refund all outright bets placed on Brazil to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup after the national team’s surprise elimination in the round of 16.
Reports initially emerged in Brazil and Superbet has since confirmed the move to Global Gaming Insider. Generous!
Brazil’s campaign came to an end on 5 July following a 2-1 defeat to Norway at MetLife Stadium, with Erling Haaland scoring twice before Neymar pulled one back late for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.
Following the result, Superbet confirmed that all long-term wagers placed on the “Brazil to win the 2026 FIFA World Cup” market would be voided, with customers receiving full refunds.
To local news outlets, the operator said the refunds reflect its commitment to transparency, customer trust and providing the best possible experience on its platform following the team’s early exit from the tournament.
However, local reports have offered conflicting information about how the promotion will operate. While some outlets reported that refunds would be processed automatically without any action required from customers, others advised bettors to contact Superbet directly to confirm eligibility and claim details.
To Global Gaming Insider, Superbet confirmed the refunds are automatic.
Recently, Senator Eduardo Girão blamed Brazil’s World Cup exit on the influence of betting operators in national football, calling on the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) to review its sponsorship policy.
Recently, CB Vice-President Michelle Ramalho defended the sector, arguing that licensed operators should not be unfairly linked to issues such as match-fixing and gambling-related harm.
Superbet was also among the country’s largest betting brands by market share at the end of 2025, highlighting the growing importance of customer promotions as competition intensifies.
Superbet previously said around 35% of its annual marketing investment would be concentrated across June and July during the World Cup
