The casino will close on 1 December with DICJ officers onsite throughout the shutdown

Kam Pek Paradise Casino will cease operations on 1 December as Macau's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau (DICJ) begins coordinated procedures to close the venue in line with the end of the three-year satellite casino transition period.

The transition period was introduced under Law No 7/2022, which reformed the legal framework for casino operations in Macau. With the deadline approaching on 31 December 2025, Kam Pek Paradise Casino and its concessionaire, SJM Resorts, have agreed that operations will end at 11.59pm on 1 December.

The DICJ will supervise the full shutdown on site to ensure all statutory steps are followed and that the venue is closed in an orderly manner.

According to the bureau, SJM will follow its approved plan for winding down the casino. This includes securing cash and chips held in the cage, handling any outstanding vouchers or chip redemption requests and assisting customers who may still have pending transactions.

The DICJ said it is maintaining close cooperation with other government departments to ensure all operational stages proceed without disruption.

Attention has also been placed on the 584 employees currently assigned to Kam Pek Paradise Casino. The DICJ confirmed it is working alongside the Labour Affairs Bureau to ensure SJM fulfils its obligations to reassign staff in accordance with the plan submitted earlier this year.

The bureau stated that employees' salaries, benefits and working conditions will be protected and that opportunities for redeployment will be provided to support continued employment.

The DICJ said it will continue to work with concessionaires and relevant departments to guide the remaining satellite venues through the transition period and to support the stable and orderly development of Macau's gaming industry.
