How did the state fall back to sub-$2bn handles?

Rush Street Interactive (RSI) accounted for nearly $3.7m of New York’s total online sports betting revenue for August and decreased 7.4%. August GGR reported by theScore Bet followed RSI, which totaled $2m and fell 45.5%.

Bringing up the rear was Bally Bet, which recorded just $984,687 of online sports betting GGR for August but actually managed to increase by 17.3% year-over-year.

Regarding additional online verticals in New York, VGW reached an $8m settlement with the Attorney General's office over its former sweepstakes casino operations in the state on September 10, bringing the regulator's investigation to an official close.

The investigation concerned VGW's Chumba Casino, Global Poker and Luckyland Slots platforms, which allowed players to use virtual Sweeps Coins that could ultimately be redeemed for cash or prizes.

New York authorities maintained that the model constituted unlawful online gambling because players were risking something of value.
