Spelinspektionen, the Swedish gaming regulator, has put three companies under supervision, as it assesses whether they have breached their conditions of gambling software licences.
Under Sweden's Gambling Act, software licence holders cannot manufacture, provide, install or modify software for any operator that does not hold the appropriate licence.
The three companies under investigation are Spribe OÜ, Epic88 and Gamomat Distribution. At this stage, no decision has been finalised as to whether these three have violated their licences.
The decision follows Sweden's continued efforts to ensure that technology providers meet the regulatory standards required to support the licensed gaming market, as it happens not long after Spribe OÜ saw its UK licence revoked by the Gambling Commission.
In this instance, Spribe was found to be lacking the sufficient software licence needed to support its gaming operations, forcing it to cease operations until it acquires the necessary hosting licence.
Spribe provided its side of the matter to Global Gaming Insider.
The decision also comes the same day as Gamomat's announcement of its partnership with Bragg Gaming. Through the partnership, Gamomat has entered the Brazilian market, adding a selection of titles to Bragg's growing catalogue.
For now, the regulator's assessment continues, and all three companies await a formal determination on whether any breaches occurred.
