With SBC Lisbon set to take place next week, it’s worth knowing some of the highlights in advance before you pack your schedule too tightly.
The SBC Summit in Lisbon is taking place from 16 to 18 September, offering three days of networking, panels, and partying.
15 September
Kicking off the event – literally – is a Legends Charity Game, which will see a team of Portugal Legends face off against World Legends. Some of the biggest names include Pepe, Luis Figo, Nani and Michael Owen.
16 September
If you miss the football game, then the players will be at the Super Stage in the morning to discuss the positive aspects of the game.
Around midday, CEOs from Flutter International, Super Group, Betfred, Fast Track and Betsson Group will come together to discuss the future of the industry. There will also be a LatAm leaders panel and an Africa Leaders panel at the same time on different stages.
In the early afternoon, Brazil iGaming leaders will discuss the first few months of regulated operations in the country, while Mexico will be the focal point later on the day. Other notable panels throughout the day include open banking, adjudicating disputes and gamification.
17 September
The Slot Academy workshop will dive into the basic principles behind the games, understanding player profiles and strategies.
There are two big regional panels at midday, with European leaders and Eurasian leaders taking a stage each. In the early afternoon, there will be panels on Italy, Georgia and Armenia.
Other notable events include an ethics of advertising panel, crypto casinos in emerging markets, a debate on who is responsible for gaming and an insight into whether VIP schemes could be both ethical and profitable.
18 September
The final day will kick off with discussions about North America, Asia, sweepstakes and Tribal leaders.
Another notable panel will be the Indian regulatory roadmap, in light of the recent ban on all online real-money gambling.
This final day seems to be quite regulatory-heavy, with AML, monitoring player habits, KYC and ESG all main topics.
