The Brazilian Company for Support of Compulsive Disorder (EBAC) has launched Pulse, a Brazil-developed tool designed to identify, monitor and classify gambling risk among users of betting platforms based on behavioral data.
The system aims to support the prevention of compulsive gambling while giving operators clearer visibility over player risk profiles.
EBAC is a Brazilian B2B company specializing in responsible gambling and player protection.
The company supports operators in complying with the rules set by the national regulator, Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA), focusing on early detection of risky behavior, structured intervention and referral to mental health support when needed.
According to EBAC, Pulse analyses user behavior to generate a score that categorizes players as displaying stable, moderate or intensive betting patterns.
“Our goal is to prevent gambling addiction, support those who need it most, and bring more security to the betting market in the country,” stated the company.
The platform also evaluates the risk of developing gambling-related disorders, classifying exposure as low, medium or high.
This allows operators to identify early warning signs and take proportionate action, including intervention, guidance or referral to specialized support.
Still in the country, the city of Belo Horizonte recently formalized a municipal mental health policy for people affected by gambling addiction.
Besides that, SPA has released Brazil’s first year of a regulated market panorama, which has shown how player protection, enforcement and compliance are becoming as central to the sector as taxation and licensing.
A Brazilian court recently ordered operators to refund losses after ruling that failures in player protection contributed to a case of compulsive gambling
