The SPA has scheduled a public hearing for 25 June to discuss supplier requirements
The consultation will help shape a future ordinance covering betting service providers

Brazil’s Secretariat of Prizes and Betting (SPA) has announced a public hearing to collect industry input for a new regulatory framework covering suppliers that provide services to fixed-odds betting operators.

The notice was published in the Official Federal Gazette on 3 June and was signed by SPA Secretary Daniele Correa Cardoso, who assumed the role in March.

According to the Ministry of Finance, the hearing will support the development of a future ordinance establishing rules for the recognition of the operational capacity of suppliers serving licensed betting operators in Brazil.

The session will take place in a hybrid format on 25 June and may be extended to 26 June if necessary. Participants will be required to register through the Federal Government’s public participation platform.

While the notice does not detail the specific requirements under discussion, the consultation signals the SPA’s continued efforts to build out the regulatory framework surrounding Brazil’s betting sector following the launch of the regulated market.

The initiative focuses on business-to-business suppliers that support licensed operators, an area that has become increasingly important as regulators seek to establish oversight standards across the wider betting ecosystem.

The hearing is expected to provide stakeholders with an opportunity to contribute technical and operational perspectives before the final regulation is drafted.

Recently, the SPA held the first official meeting of Brazil’s National Betting System Forum (SINAPO), bringing together representatives from 15 states and the Federal District. The initiative was created to strengthen cooperation between federal and regional authorities involved in lottery and betting regulation.
