Spanish regulator DGOJ has released its Q1 2026 online gambling market report, showing gross gaming revenue (GGR) of €454.2m. This represents a 13.9% increase year-on-year despite a 6.5% decline compared with the previous quarter.
Online casino remained the largest segment, accounting for 54.56% of total GGR. Revenue reached €247.8m, up 21.77% year-on-year and 2.44% quarter-on-quarter. Slot machine games were the main driver of growth, recording an annual growth rate of 22.68%.
Sports betting generated GGR of €174.5m, up 5.1% from the same period last year, although revenue fell 17.2% from the previous quarter.
Meanwhile, the poker vertical reported GGR of €28.3m, rising 10.9% year-on-year but declining 2.9% quarter-on-quarter.
Bingo generated GGR of €3.6m and continued to decline, with revenue falling 4.22% compared with the previous quarter and 0.43% year-on-year.

Among the other key indicators, player deposits and withdrawals increased by 17.66% and 19.46% year-on-year, respectively. Compared with the previous quarter, deposits rose by 5.64% while withdrawals increased by 9.19%.
Marketing expenditure totalled €184.75m during the quarter, up 12.05% year-on-year. Promotions accounted for the largest share of spending at €91.05m, followed by advertising (€73.6m), affiliate marketing (€17.4m) and sponsorships (€2.7m).
Advertising expenditure increased by 23.22% year-on-year, while affiliate marketing spend rose by 30.28%. In contrast, sponsorship spending declined by 17.61%.
The average number of active gaming accounts reached 1.89 million per month during the quarter, representing an increase of 8.90% year-on-year and 4.72% compared with the previous quarter.
Online gambling in Spain grew in 2025, with GGR reaching €1.7bn, representing a 16.99% increase compared with the previous year.
Online casino gaming generatedss €893m in GGR. The vertical accounted for 52.51% of total market revenue and recorded year-on-year growth of 22.15%.
