The Danish Gambling Authority, Spillemyndigheden, has launched a new responsible gambling campaign titled "Send your game on a summer holiday." The initiative encourages individuals to take a break from gambling using the self-exclusion register Rofus.

Spillemyndigheden noted that this summer features many major sporting events, creating more opportunities for gambling.

The campaign continues the "Take it easy with Rofus" initiative, which was first launched in 2024 and aims to make ROFUS more relevant to younger audiences.

"Send your game on a summer holiday" runs from 13 July to 2 August on Facebook, Instagram and digital screens at Copenhagen Airport.

The campaign includes still images and short animated videos in two versions. Featuring blue skies and palm trees, the adverts ask whether gambling should be sent on an all-inclusive trip to Crete or a week away to Alanya.

With the message "Send your game on a summer holiday – Take it easy with Rofus", the campaign aims to encourage the target audience to reflect on their gambling habits and consider whether it is time to take a break.

The holiday destinations of Alanya and Crete were selected to appeal to younger audiences. The campaign is also featured at locations such as Copenhagen Airport to remind travellers to take a break from gambling while they are on holiday.

Through Rofus, individuals can choose between exclusion periods of 24 hours, one, three or six months or a permanent exclusion lasting at least one year.

Spillemyndigheden recently published the figures for May 2026. The overall gambling spend rose 21.5% year-on-year, totalling €830m ($947.9m).  Sports betting saw the largest annual increase, jumping 54.2% to €238m, or 28.6% of the total GGR.
