GKL has named 58 successful candidates in its 2026 recruitment drive
Nearly 1,500 applicants competed for 66 positions across multiple disciplines
New recruits will undergo nine weeks of training before joining their respective departments

Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) has announced the successful candidates for its 2026 recruitment programme, selecting 58 new employees after a hiring process that attracted almost 1,500 applicants.

The state-run operator of South Korea's foreign players-only Seven Luck casinos received 1,485 applications for 66 advertised positions, resulting in an average competition rate of 22.5 applicants per vacancy.

Office administration proved to be the most competitive category, with 582 applicants competing for just two positions, while the dealer recruitment attracted 439 candidates for 40 vacancies. Recruitment also covered legal, IT, information security, facilities management, international marketing focused on Japan, China and Thailand, as well as positions reserved for people with disabilities and military veterans.

The successful candidates will begin a nine-week training programme at GKL's Human Resources Development Center from August 24 to October 23 before taking up their roles. The programme includes table game dealing, operational training, workplace safety and legal compliance, customer service development, volunteer activities and practical on-site experience.

The recruitment announcement follows several recent initiatives aimed at strengthening GKL's long-term operations

Earlier this month, the company's board approved an interim cash dividend of KRW60 (US$0.04) per share, representing a total distribution of KRW3.71bn. It also approved a KRW168.8bn investment to secure a long-term lease extension for its flagship Seven Luck Gangnam Coex casino through October 2035, providing greater certainty for one of South Korea's largest foreigner-only gaming venues.

Beyond its core casino business, GKL has also been expanding its tourism offering. The operator recently partnered with the Gangnam Medical Tour Center to launch a K-Medical Wellness Experience Zone inside its Gangnam Coex property, providing international visitors with wellness services including skin analysis, beauty consultations and stress management experiences as part of broader efforts to support South Korea's growing medical tourism sector.
