Table drop climbed 8.9% from a year earlier despite declining from May

Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) reported casino sales of KRW37.2bn for June 2026, representing a 6.9% increase from KRW34.8bn in the same month last year, according to preliminary business performance figures released by the company.

The June result, however, reflected a slower month compared with May, with total casino sales declining 13.8% from KRW43.1bn. Table game revenue, GKL's primary earnings driver, fell 14.3% month-on-month to KRW33.3bn, although it remained 5.3% higher than a year earlier. Machine gaming revenue reached KRW3.9bn, down 8.6% from May but up 22% year-on-year.

Gaming activity followed a similar pattern. Table drop, which measures the amount customers exchange for gaming chips, totaled KRW327.7bn in June. While this represented a 13.6% decline from the previous month, it increased 8.9% compared with June 2025, indicating continued annual growth in customer spending despite softer sequential demand.

For the first six months of 2026, GKL generated cumulative casino sales of KRW227.2bn, an 8.2% increase from KRW209.9bn in the corresponding period last year. Table game revenue rose 7.3% to KRW205.4bn, while machine gaming revenue climbed 17.9% to KRW21.7bn.

Customer activity also strengthened during the first half of the year. Cumulative table drop reached KRW1.98trn, up 13.9% from KRW1.74trn recorded during the same period in 2025.

The June figures followed an exceptionally strong May, when GKL posted casino sales of KRW43.1bn, up 40.8% year-on-year. May's performance was driven by broad-based growth across both table games and slot machines, with table drop reaching KRW379.5bn.

While June moderated from that peak, the first-half results suggest GKL has maintained positive momentum in 2026, supported by continued growth in both gaming revenue and customer activity across its Three Seven Luck casino properties.
