BetBlocker has released its annual report for 2025, covering important statistics, insights and goals for the year.
Achievements
Despite the funding climate in the UK, BetBlocker described its fundraising efforts as “more successful than 2024, which was our most successful year by a significant margin.”
The organic search traffic increased 40% when compared with the start of the year, pointing to users increasingly turning to places such as Google to look for help.
BetBlocker also performed better than its direct competitors in terms of organic search traffic.
In recognition of its efforts, BetBlocker received the Gold Member status with the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG). It was also selected as Clarion Gaming’s Charity Partner for the second year running.
BetBlocker also partnered with the Responsible Online Gaming Association, the California Council on Problem Gambling, the European Gaming & Betting Association for European Safer Gaming Week, the University of Nevada Las Vegas and Sydney University.
User statistics
The number of active users, meaning those who put the restrictions in place rather than simply downloaded the app, increased 154% throughout the year to a total of 300,012 people.
BetBlocker supported 22,584 unique users from the UK in 2025, which is more than the number of people who rang the UK National Gambling Helpline in 2024.
Over the year, BetBlocker spent a total of £293,675.48 ($395,190.28). When divided by the total number of users helped, this creates an average cost per user of £0.98.
Brazil was the country with the most active users, with 64,107 people or 21.37% of the global base.
The United Kingdom was the second most popular country with 7.53% of all active users; the United States came third with 19,664 or 6.55%; Kenya was fourth with 13,711 or 4.57%; and Romania was fifth with 13,329 or 4.44% of all users.
BetBlocker credits both translation efforts and working alongside local organisations to recommend the software with its global success.
For example, since partnering with FreshStart Zambia to launch the service in three Zambian dialects, users in this region increased by 290%.
Other countries saw similar figures, with users in Italy rising by 297% once the app had been localised, 229% in France, 280% in Serbia and a 645% increase in Japan.
Several jurisdictions around the world are also in talks to use BetBlocker as an official tool to help their citizens.
Recent updates within the app include signposting for local support and a scheduling tool that allows users to plan restrictions in advance.
In 2026, the organisation hopes to upgrade its iOS platform, launch in six new languages, build three new tools and streamline its onboarding process.
BetBlocker has active users in every country, other than North Korea
