Bally’s Intralot has signed a new agreement with Hellenic Lotteries to continue providing lottery technology services for Greece’s state lottery operations after the operator secured a fresh 12-year concession earlier this month.
Hellenic Lotteries, part of Allwyn Hellas, was awarded the exclusive right to operate Greece’s passive lotteries and instant games from 2 May 2026 following an international tender process.
The group previously held the licence for the prior 12-year concession period.
Under the new deal, Bally’s Intralot will migrate the operator’s existing infrastructure onto its LotosX Omni ecosystem, covering lottery and instant-game management across retail and digital channels.
The supplier said the contract initially runs for one year, with extension options that could align it with the full concession period.
The agreement comes during a broader restructuring period across the Greek lottery sector. Allwyn and OPAP advanced plans last year for a €16bn ($18.6bn) business combination intended to consolidate lottery operations and international gaming assets under the Allwyn brand.
The Bally’s Intralot business itself also emerged from a major transaction in 2025, when Intralot acquired Bally’s International Interactive division in a €2.7bn deal that left Bally’s holding a majority stake in the combined entity.
The merged group has since expanded its lottery technology operations across Europe and the Americas, including recent contracts in Chile and North America.
Lottery suppliers have increasingly focused on platform modernisation projects as operators seek stronger digital integration alongside traditional retail distribution. Greece remains one of Europe’s largest retail lottery markets, with OPAP historically maintaining an extensive land-based network across the country.
Allwyn Hellas CEO Jan Karas said: “Ensuring business continuity, revamping and evolving our products and upgrading customer experience are key pillars of our plans for the new 12-year concession.”
Bally’s Intralot Group CEO Robeson Reeves commented: “The agreement reflected the trust placed in our technology, our people and our long-term commitment to supporting regulated lottery operators.”
In March, Bally’s Intralot formally launched its combined North American identity following the merger between Bally’s and Intralot, with the business continuing to operate as a B2B lottery technology supplier across the US and Canada.
Hellenic Lotteries first partnered with Intralot on Greece’s state lottery technology systems under the previous concession awarded in 2013
