Dazn has partnered with Tabcorp to launch a global sports games platform for major sporting events.
The WorldPlay platform has launched in time for the World Cup and invites players to predict the outcome of every match, from the round of 32 until the final game.
WorldPlay has already launched in Australia, Germany, Spain, Austria and the UK, creating a target audience of over 200 million for its first rollout.
Shay Segev, Dazn CEO, said: “Dazn is reimagining how fans engage with sport on a global scale, and WorldPlay is an extension of that ambition.
“By bringing a gaming experience to fans across multiple markets, we are turning the world’s biggest sporting event into an opportunity for even more interactivity and connection.
“This partnership with Tabcorp marks the beginning of a global collaboration, combining Dazn’s built-for-sport platform with innovative gameplay to unite fans around the World Cup.”
However, there are some differences between the regional versions.
In Australia, the Dazn product is a free-to-play bracket challenge that gives players the chance to compete for the AU$20m (US$13.80m) perfect bracket and final score prize, with an additional AU$500,000 prize pool.
In the other countries, players can compete for a £1m ($1.32m) perfect bracket and final score prize, with an additional £50,000 prize pool.
The deadlines for bracket submissions will begin to close on 28 June.
Gillon McLachlan, Tabcorp Managing Director and CEO, said: “WorldPlay reflects Tabcorp’s ambition to build new sports entertainment experiences in new categories.
“It shows how Tabcorp and DAZN can use their local and international sports experience to build new sports entertainment products in new categories.
“It is free to play, globally scalable, and designed to create fan experiences beyond traditional wagering.”
Dazn also recently partnered with ADI Predictstreet for a free-to-play World Cup prediction market platform.
For future events, players can expect new game formats, premium subscription features, local leagues and fantasy draft-style experiences
