Bally’s Corporation Chairman Soo Kim has confirmed the operator is near its financial goal to begin development on a multi-level podium at the site of the future Las Vegas A’s ballpark, which will offer beverage, dining and entertainment options before and after games.
The multi-phase mixed-use project will be constructed on the 24 acres accompanying the $2bn stadium currently being built on a separate portion of the 35-acre site which will eventually host Bally’s new Las Vegas casino-resort.
The operator has also been keeping both the A’s and Gaming and Leisure Properties (GLPI) informed of its development plans, given GLPI owns the land on which the ballpark and casino-resort are being built.
GLPI and Bally’s originally signed a lease agreement for the site in September 2022, which will eventually feature the A’s ballpark, Bally’s hotel and casino, a 2,500-seat entertainment theatre and a central utility plant to serve each venue.
Elsewhere on the Las Vegas Strip, Hard Rock International submitted a land use application to the Paradise Town Advisory Board in the hopes of constructing a new 2,000-seat live entertainment venue in addition to its existing footprint in Sin City.
According to the new Las Vegas property, the additional theatre space would provide an “intimate setting” for various live entertainment acts and “complement” the anticipated 5,000-seat Hard Rock Live arena.
If approved, the project would add approximately 179,000 sq ft to the $4bn casino-resort structure, including for the auditorium, pre-function and backstage areas.
The Las Vegas Diamond Arena project also successfully acquired an additional 3.03 acres of land to officially complete the venue site, which hopes to become the home arena for a potential National Basketball Association (NBA) expansion franchise.
Vegas Golden Knights Owner Bill Foley unveiled plans to launch an ownership bid for a potential NBA expansion franchise during June 2026, which could result in offers between $7-10bn
