The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) has reported the state’s total casino and retail sports betting activity for April 2026, as revenue from the two verticals reached $118.9m, equating to growth of 8.3%.
MGM Grand Detroit led all properties in Michigan with just over $58.4m of revenue and increased 14.3%. MotorCity Casino and Hollywood Casino at Greektown increased revenue 3.2% and 0.8%, respectively, to $34.1m and $25.5m.
According to the MGCB, slot and table game revenue increased 7.8% during the period, and 5.8% month-over-month.

How have retail casinos performed in Michigan since 2021?
The three casino properties paid $9.6m in state gaming taxes for retail activity, as well as reported submitting $14m in wagering taxes and development agreement payments to the City of Detroit.
Michigan also managed to generate a retail sports betting handle of $8.7m for April 2026, equating to a decrease of 7%. The vertical’s revenue increased 164.5%, however, reaching $837,397.
Fantasy operators currently licensed in Michigan produced $448,069 in adjusted revenues and paid $37,638 in taxes for the monthly period.

The MGCB also reported the state’s iGaming and online sports betting activity for March 2026 on April 21, which combined to generate $322.1m of revenue, equating to growth of 26.8%.
The $322.1m produced by iGaming operations represents a new monthly high in Michigan, as well as a 23.6% increase year-over-year.
Michigan's gaming regulator also launched a new statewide responsible gambling campaign on May 12, focused on underage gambling prevention.
