Bloomberry Cultural Foundation will fund a PHP 379.48m (US$6.16m) Modern Warfare Laboratory at the PMA
The facility will replace the former PMA Station Hospital and is scheduled for completion in Q4 2027
The project forms part of PAGCOR's broader support for the Armed Forces of the Philippines and military modernization

The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) is set to receive a new Modern Warfare Laboratory after Bloomberry Cultural Foundation Inc. (BCFI) committed PHP 379.48m toward the project. The initiative is supported by the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation (PAGCOR) as part of its efforts to back military modernization.

The funding agreement was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement signed between PMA and BCFI, witnessed by PAGCOR Chairman and CEO Alejandro H. Tengco. The project reflects the gaming regulator's continued support for the modernization of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP).

The investment will finance the demolition of the academy's former station hospital and the construction of a new two-story facility designed to prepare cadets for evolving security challenges. The laboratory will focus on emerging defense technologies, contemporary military concepts, and operational decision-making to enhance officer training.

Demolition work is expected to begin in the coming weeks, while construction is targeted for completion during the fourth quarter of 2027.

During the signing ceremony, Tengco said PAGCOR remains committed to supporting initiatives that strengthen the country's defense capabilities, noting that the effort aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to help address the operational requirements of the AFP.

He also thanked Bloomberry Cultural Foundation, led by President Donato Almeda and Chairman Enrique K. Razon Jr., for its continued support of the military and the PMA.

The initiative also highlights PAGCOR's broader regulatory approach, under which integrated resort licensees are required to establish charitable foundations and dedicate a portion of their revenues to public benefit programs.

These initiatives support sectors such as education, healthcare, sports development, cultural heritage, and other nation-building efforts, extending the economic contributions of the regulated gaming industry beyond tax revenues.
